WTM World Responsible Tourism Day
WTM World Responsible Tourism Day is the world’s largest and most ambitious global movement to encourage, educate and inspire the travel and tourism industry to be more sustainable.
This universal initiative, in association with the World Tourism Organization, in its capacity as a United Nations Agency, is also demonstrating to customers a more caring and ethical side to the industry.
World Travel Market, the global industry’s leading business event, held annually in London with 50,000 senior professionals from 187 countries, is helping to drive year-round responsible tourism activity.
This includes:
· conservation of our planet and its stunning scenery
· preservation of our culture and heritage
· safeguarding precious resource such as clean water
· fighting the destruction of rainforests, and
· poverty reduction, helping local communities to benefit from tourism
WTM World Responsible Tourism Day is celebrated this year on Wednesday 7th November and marked not only at World Travel Market, but also by many supporters worldwide with promotions, competitions, trade fairs, press conferences and much more.
